Provide shade for your guests & vendors at all times!

Have a ceremony plan B in place in case of rain, a storm or heatwave. Clear umbrellas for guests or a marquee are some examples of this!

Check to see if heaters will be provided if it ends up being a freezing cold night.

Ensure you’ve given the limo driver the correct pick up address so the ceremony runs on time.

If using your own car, have a back up plan in case it breaks down.

Ensure there is water available for you and your guests at your ceremony. Also ensure there is enough water at your reception so you don’t run out!

Ensure there is a toilet on site or walking distance for guests.

Make sure your celebrant knows they need to bring a PA. If your celebrant is someone who doesn’t do weddings often, ensure they know how to use a PA, know how to charge it, have spare batteries for the microphone, have a back up PA, or consider outsourcing this service from an AV company.

Discuss what will be done with your certificate after the ceremony, do you want your celebrant to hand it to you so you carry it down the aisle? Or will they discreetly hand it to a family member?

Ask your live musician if they have a back up of everything including PA.

Have a backup power supply/ generators, especially if it’s a DIY wedding at home. What is your plan if the power stops working?

Ensure elderly guests have a seat at all times of the day.

If the venue manager is difficult but your heart is set on the venue, hire a wedding coordinator so you don’t have to deal with them directly.

Have essentials available in the bathrooms like bandaids, sanitary products, Panadol, etc.

The week of the wedding, confirm the arrival time with vendors.

Ensure your vendors have a back up plan in case they are affected by the pandemic.

If there’s trouble makers in your family, hire a security guard to keep them in line.

Walk slowly down the aisle!

Does your venue have sound restrictions? If yes do you mind?

Enjoy every moment because it will fly by!

Did we forget anything?
