We're a family business! John Jurgs started Argyle Jewellers over 35 years ago and now we have a second generation designing with him. Maxwell Arbiter (John's stepson) works with John in designing our unique ranges. It doesn't stop there though, Sarah (wife to John, mother to Maxwell) runs the Marketing of Argyle Jewellers and "the girls" all design, display, merchandise and have a role in what goes into our store. We love what we do but we love that we do it together more.

It's always a pleasure to go to Argyle Jewellers. I've purchased a number of pieces for my wife, daughter and son when big occasions like birthdays or wedding anniversaries needed something special. Max and his team are always knowledgeable and helpful with choosing or designing something that stays within your budget and becomes something the family can treasure. I would highly recommend Max and the team at Argyle Jewellers.
Thank you Phil, it’s so kind of you to take the time to review us. As a small business reviews are so important. We look forward to seeing you soon. Team Argyle 💎

Terrible service. We went in looking for wedding bands and the first thing the lady did was huff and say my ring would be hard to pair a band with and then went on about hers and store’s credentials so they should know. She was fine to show us rings and I pointed out one ring that took into account her criticism of my ring and asked if that may work and she just flatly said “no”. She then asked me to take my ring off and when I gave it to her she *literally* rolled her eyes and went on again about why it will be hard to pair with. She then gave us a suggestion of a ring that may work and I tried it on but then my fiancé then got a message about a call we’ve been waiting for all day so I gave the ring back and apologised and said we had to jump out. She was fine and said it’s ok these things happen but when we came back 5 mins later after sorting our call, we stood at the men’s rings looking and talking about ones we’d like to see while her and another sales person stood at the register and just socialised and then would look over at us and smirk. I caught their eye to kind of let them know we’d like service but they just smirked and stayed away from us… I have no idea what was wrong. We definitely were polite and I have a 2carat diamond and 18k gold band so surely she wasn’t snooty that my ring was too cheap and thought we weren’t worth her time but yeah, she hated how my ring had extra diamonds on it and decided to just ignore us. It made no sense!! Anyway, joke’s on her, we spent a lot of money on rings elsewhere that afternoon so we definitely weren’t playing around with intending to buy. Sales people from other stores were appalled at her behaviour and also told us the advice she gave us about my ring being hard to pair with because of the extra diamonds was total rubbish (one person even had diamonds in a similar position to mine and said she had hers for many years hers were totally fine so that terrible sales person at Argyle was obviously not as knowledgeable as she thought and I hope she has the terrible day she deserves!)
Hi Mel, We’re truly sorry to hear that your recent visit to Argyle Jewellers didn’t meet your expectations. Providing exceptional service and a welcoming experience is something we take great pride in, so it’s disappointing to learn that we missed the mark during your visit to look at wedding bands. Had been chatting to someone regarding getting a custom wedding ring made and was told to come in any time. So made the trip up (30 min drive) on Friday the 17th of October only to find that the store was closed. I messaged the contact and was told that they open later on Fridays, at 9:30am, meanwhile this was at 10:05am. So I just hung around until they opened. The ladies were apologetic stating that they'd had a staff meeting and had forgotten to put the sign on the door. I was seen to about getting my engagement ring resized and then told to take a seat and wait to discuss having the wedding ring made. After a decent wait I was finally seen to and I pointed out a wedding ring I really liked and wanted made for me (the ring was white gold with real diamonds and cost around $2000) Now, I'm allergic to all forms of gold so need the ring made in sterling silver (hense having to have it custom made) and was offered lab grown diamonds which was fine (they're approx 70% less than the price of normal diamonds), was also informed that there's no additional cost for having the ring custom made which is nice. I was then quoted an astronomical $500 just for the sterling silver band. There was no design or pattern or twisting or anything, just a basic, solid silver band (for reference a similar sterling silver band from Pandora is $70) then on top of that was quoted over $1200 for the 3 small lab diamonds. So this ring ended up costing over $1700 for a thin, basic sterling silver band and 3 fake diamonds. I genuinely regret paying for this ring but I was so over the whole experience and just wanted to leave. Feel like the biggest fool and will now have a forever reminder of that on my finger every day. I only give it 2 stars because the staff were actually really lovely.
Hi Jo, What an experienced you’ve had! We had a last minute staff meeting on the morning of your visit which unfortunately ran over time and updating on google for a half hour delay just didn’t work. I can only apologise for keeping you waiting. With regard to your order I would most certainly refute your comment of “astronomical cost” and I am more than happy to process a cancellation for you - the last thing we want to be is a “forever reminder”. I’ll reach out directly and sort this out for you. Regards Team Argyle

My fiance visited Argyle to prepare for the proposal, and Judy from the team was absolutely amazing. She supported him every step of the way, and thanks to her help, I had the most unforgettable and magical proposal of my life. Judy was super friendly and professional, and when I later visited the Garden City Argyle store to get my engagement ring resized, the rest of the staff were just as lovely and helpful. Everyone made the whole experience really special. I truly felt looked after every step of the way. I couldn’t recommend the Argyle Garden City store more. We’ll definitely be back for our wedding bands!
Congratulations Regina! 🥂 Engagements are what we love most! I'm so thrilled to hear your whole experience was so memorable and glad we could be such a happy part of your celebrations. Thank you 🤩 Team Argyle 💎
