Service Paid For: On-the-Day Coordination (OTD) with Promotional Upgrade to Partial Full Planning for a November 15 2025 Wedding, c/o Team led by Mavel. Team Beautiful did what they could, and ultimately, our wedding went great. We appreciate Mavel's willingness and all core efforts made. However, given the team’s touted 20 years of experience and the Partial Full Planning package we received, we had significantly higher expectations for proactive management, organization, and attention to detail. It was clear the quality of service we received was not aligned with the positive reviews typically seen when the Owner (Jenne) is directly present and involved. One red flag we noticed was when we spent our evening listening to Mavel updating Jenne about her progress, instead of updating US. The entire process felt chaotic, with unnecessary stress caused by poor internal communication and a critical lack of proactive cross-checking. Prioir to the event: The coordination process was complicated and only streamlined after we escalated issues to Jenne, who assigned an online coord. Despite this, a critical gap remained, the online coord and the Events Lead, Mavel, were not aligned on the day. This led to significant issues as Mavel did not have the correct, final seating chart, resulting in random name placements. She also had to ask us to add extra people for the crew meal last minute, despite numerous prior alignments on the headcount. When these errors were raised, Mavel consistently showed no accountability ("You did not update the document" or "I do not know why it changed"). As Partial Full Planning coordinators, the expectation is that the team will proactively cross-check essential documents against all communications. Supplier Communication & Sensitive Briefing Failures: Our photo team specifically pointed out they had not met the coordinator even a day prior to the wedding. Crucially, sensitive information regarding our complex family dynamic, which was specifically briefed to Mavel during catch-ups, was not cascaded to the P/V team. This unfortunately brewed unnecessary tension during family photoshoots. On-the-Day Execution & Staff Attentiveness: PAs arrived late (10 AM), requiring us to ask where they were. During the initial hours, assistants were often disengaged, congregating in a corner and using their phones. Our Maid of Honor had to call them out because the bride had to move around to get the steamer herself. Ceremony and Leadership Lapses: Intrusive Direction: The ceremony's intimate mood was ruined when the lead was heard shouting instructions at the bride as she walked down the aisle. Team members were also frequently too close and consistently in the frame of important photos/videos. Post-Ceremony Chaos: After the ceremony, there was a complete lack of direction—no one guided us for the processional, and guests began walking up to cocktails. Our photo/video team had to step in and arrange a mock processional. Critical Omission (Alcohol): Alcoholic beverages for cocktail hour were not immediately served because team was unsuccessful in retrieving a car key containing the beverages. The inability of the event lead to resolve such a critical, promised guest service is a significant failure in proactive event management. Professional Conduct & Integrity: When the lead joined the tasting + style alignment (proactively suggested by AJT so they can lead the styling discussion), she joined the food tasting without waiting to be offered a seat. We would have offered, but it felt presumptive, especially since our party was already small (just us and my mother). She also has a tendency to talk over others during discussions. While this happened multiple times, it was highlighted when it occurred during conversations with our mom. More seriously, our mom overheard Mavel claiming credit for negotiating a discounted after-party rate, which was secured solely by our mother directly speaking with the venue owner. We hope this feedback will be considered for improvement. Thank you!
