I booked a room at Crowne Plaza Adelaide through Booking.com, where it clearly stated that the hotel has on-site parking. What wasn’t mentioned anywhere is that the parking is actually owned by another company and costs an extra $39 per night. We were only told this at check-in, which felt misleading and deceptive — if we had known, we would have chosen a different hotel. When we raised this with reception, the on-duty manager (Puma) was extremely rude and defensive. She couldn’t show us any booking “package” that explained the parking charges, yet insisted we had to pay anyway. Her attitude was unprofessional and very disappointing for someone in a management role. Overall, the unclear information and poor customer service really put us off ever staying at Crowne Plaza again or recommending it to others.

I booked my stay at the Crowne Plaza believing, based on the information listed on Booking.com and other sites, that the hotel offered on-site parking. This is completely misleading. There is NO hotel car park. Instead, guests are told to park in another building and pay an additional fee. Not only is the parking off-site, but the hotel charges, and if you need to take your car in and out more than once, you are charged even more (39$ every night). Meanwhile, the actual 24-hour parking rate at the same car park is only $16. The pricing is unjustifiable and feels deliberately deceptive. When I raised this issue with the front desk, the staff member, who introduced herself as the manager (Pumiudu, Puma), was extremely rude. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of their misleading information, and no effort to help, even though the problem was created by the hotel’s own false advertising. Overall, this experience was very disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially those travelling with a car. Clear communication and respectful customer service are basic expectations, and unfortunately, Crowne Plaza failed on both.

The lifts are really annoying and rarely detect your card. Reception on level 10 makes it quite annoying to check in abd out with your bags going up multiple (3 sets of lifts from the carpark). If you come by car, goodluck getting your bags into the building. Rooms are good, and so is the hotel staff.

One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had at a hotel. This incident happened a little while ago, but it is important to share because the handling was so poor and the experience has stayed with me. I was previously a frequent guest at Crowne Plaza Adelaide, but after the way the hotel handled a lost property incident, I will never stay here again. I accidentally left a valuable cashmere overcoat in my room. I realised on the way to the airport and called immediately. Despite this, the hotel’s response was chaotic, dismissive and extremely slow. I was told by the duty manager that it had been “too busy a weekend” to investigate, even though locating an item left in a room should be straightforward if handled promptly. Weeks passed with no proactive communication, no follow up and no urgency. I had to chase the hotel for updates at every stage. Staff would not provide the General Manager’s details so I could escalate the matter, and when the General Manager eventually contacted me, the tone was defensive, inaccurate and lacking any empathy. There was a complete lack of accountability at every point in the process. By the time the hotel investigated properly, it was far too late. The coat was never found. The hotel then told me an insurance claim would be lodged. The insurer later contacted me asking why I believed the hotel was responsible, which made it clear that the hotel had not progressed the claim at all. I provided all documents immediately, yet months went by with no updates unless I followed up myself. To this day, the hotel has not resolved the claim or taken responsibility for the poor handling of the entire situation. I continue to travel to Adelaide regularly, but now stay at another nearby hotel where the service is consistently excellent. I feel genuinely welcomed when I arrive and, on occasion, even recognised as a returning guest. The contrast in service has been significant. A very disappointing experience from a brand that claims to “show we care.” That certainly was not reflected in how this was handled.
