Earp Distilling Co. is tucked away in the harbour-side haven of Carrington - lovingly referred to as Carrodise. We are surrounded by beautiful beaches and lush vineyards, only 2 hours from Sydney and 10 minutes from Newcastle's CBD. Our Barrel Hall is a modern industrial function space that is sure to wow your guests, featuring rows of rum and whiskey barrels, high ceilings, and exposed brick. We're passionate about bringing together your perfect day, whether you are simply celebrating your reception, or choose to say 'I do' with us at your ceremony too.

I recently had the pleasure of joining a gin-making session with Ness and it was an absolute highlight!! Ness shared her deep knowledge of botanicals and we weren’t just watching - we were actively involved in selecting, blending the flavours and learning the craft step by step! Ness encouraged creativity, helping each of us create a gin that reflected our own taste preferences. By the end I walked away not only with my own bottle of handcrafted gin but also with a genuine appreciation for the artistry behind it! Highly recommend!!!

What are the transportation options available to visit your distillery?
The easiest way to get to Earp Distilling Co. in Carrington is via car. There is ample street parking, and room for front-door drop offs from rideshare apps like Uber and Didi. Please remember never to drink and drive. If you’re arriving via public transportation, the closest bus line is the 24, and the closest stop is on the corner of Bourke Street & Hargrave Street. Carrington is a wonderful neighborhood for cycling if you choose to arrive by bike.
Is Earp Distilling Co. related to Earp Bros Tiles?
Yes - the same family that runs our distillery runs the Earp Bros tiles. The Earp family has been involved in Newcastle’s goods and services industry since 1883, serving the diverse and evolving needs of this coastal community.
Do you have options for non-drinkers at your venue?
Absolutely! Earp Distilling Co. offers tasty and inspired mocktails in our bar & restaurant, as well as soft drinks, and the distillery itself has a rich history that diners can enjoy without the emphasis on alcohol. We are currently working on expanding our experiences offerings to include non-alcoholic options - watch this space!
Do you allow dogs in your venue?
While we would love to welcome your furry friends, we are not a pet-friendly venue and do not have outdoor seating. Service animals will always be accepted.
Do you have private change rooms or spaces to get ready before an event?
Unfortunately not. We do have a large, single-occupancy accessible restroom that many guests have used as a changing space, but this is located in a shared space used by our bar and restaurant patrons so we can’t guarantee its availability. A private on-site office, adjacent to the Barrel Hall may be available for use in some cases at the distillery’s discretion.
I’m trying to make a booking in your restaurant - what is the difference between Distillery Bar seating and Other seating?
There is no difference between these options, please select either. All bookings made through OpenTable will be manually allocated by our staff to the most appropriate Bar & Restaurant seating on the day. If you have a preferred seating arrangement (ex. at the bar, at a low table, with a highchair, at a window) please make a note when booking. On days where our bar is particularly busy, we may open tables in our Barrel Hall as well.
What’s included in your set Chef’s Selection Menu?
Our Chef’s Selection Menu (previously called ‘Feed Me Menu’) is a seasonal selection of dishes chosen by our Chef from the bar and restaurant menu, sized to suit your group. This is typically 5-8 dishes, made to be shared, and does not include dessert. We are happy to accommodate any dietary requirements.
I can no longer come to my pre-booked distillery experience, can I reschedule?
You are welcome to cancel or reschedule your distillery experience booking up to 14 days prior to the class for a full refund or no-fee change. Changes requested within 7 days will result in a 75% refund OR 25% per person rescheduling fee. Changes requested within 48hrs will result in a 50% refund OR 50% rescheduling fee. Refunds and rescheduling availability outside of these cutoff periods are completely at the discretion of Earp Distilling Co. All no-shows to classes will be marked as cancellations.
Do you accept walk-is?
Absolutely! You are welcome to pop around any time. Take advantage of a sunny day to explore Carrington or hide out from the rain, and find your new favourite cocktail. We have weekly bar specials including wallet-friendly Lunches, Happy Hour and Grazing Menus, as well as self-guided Tasting Flights you can enjoy without prebooking.
Is your venue accessible? What can I expect as a disabled person visiting?
Our venue aims to be as accessible as possible and welcomes feedback on how we can continue to improve. The distillery is a single story, with ramps and unobstructed paths throughout making access easier for those with mobility aides. We have a single-occupant accessible restroom, as well as ambulant toilets in each of the gendered restrooms. We have low table options, and large text menus available in our front bar and restaurant. Our venue can become rather noisy on weekend nights and in peak season, so if you have sensory issues related to sound you may want to call ahead.
