My name is Sam and I am a Marriage Celebrant and MC based in Melbourne (but I travel far and wide; Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, anywhere!) I love weddings, when done right it is the most fun someone can have, that's a fact (I’m pretty sure it is). As a full-time celebrant I am so lucky to help awesome couples start their big days off the right way - with ceremonies that are a perfect blend of genuine, relaxed vibes, where laughter flows freely (and happy tears make a guest appearance!). Some quick fun facts: \- I am a full time celebrant and MC and have performed over 500 weddings! \- I have over 240 FIVE STAR Google reviews. \- Most couples book me 12+ months in advance. **How I work..** I have a really simple approach to the ceremonies I put together; **1\. Modern:** We have all sat through an “old school” ceremony that feels like it goes for 3 hours, it's tough work. I specialise in modern, fun and entertaining ceremonies. If you want a Pope Francis style ceremony I am probably not your guy. **2\. Funny:** Just like life, weddings should have some funny moments. I want you and your guests to laugh and enjoy the ceremony. My background is stand up comedy and podcasting, but don’t worry, this isn’t a roast or dad joke central (I couldn’t think of anything worse!). My job is to be your storyteller, it’s to get to know you both, and tell your tale like we have been friends for years! **3\. Memorable:** Most of all I don’t want your guests thinking “Could I get away with checking the footy scores?”. I want your ceremony to be entertaining, I want it to tell the story of you so well that they have no choice but to be as present as Tibetan monks! Essentially, I am saying I want to put the best-ever ceremony together for you. He brought an incredibly warm and friendly vibe, and was able to hit the serious notes while also making jokes as if he had known us for years. We had many many people comment on how amazing he was and how he presented, with one or two people even asking if he was a close friend of ours. The MC upgrade was 1000% worth it as he made sure everything ran smoothly and to schedule on the day, coordinating all the vendors and the venue as required. This really allowed us to sit back and enjoy every last second of the night without stress. His communication and assistance in leadup to the event was exemplary, as he answered all questions we had and gave very helpful advice and feedback on our vows and other speeches. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Communication was seamless throughout the planning process. Sam kept us well informed about each next step, gave us helpful tips for writing our personalised vows, and was open and collaborative in crafting our ceremony. He managed to take our story and create a personalised ceremony that struck the perfect balance of humour and heart – he had everyone laughing and tearing up at the right moments. Sam has such a natural presentation style and read the crowd really well, even throwing in a couple of poignant ad-libs on the day.
