This is one of my absolute favourite places to visit in Melbourne. It is in the most beautiful area, the food is faultlessly delicious, the coffee is amazing and the staff are very friendly. I would give 6 stars if I could

We were given a voucher for high tea in the garden gazebo, at $200 value we were expecting something special. The garden isn’t one of the old established Olinda gardens, it’s a new development. And the high tea wasn’t a classic high tea - no finger sandwiches or mini quiches. It was an ‘Asian fusion high tea’. The food was very average - heat & serve savouries that were dried out and super sweet kitsch desserts (pink pig & white rabbit)! I didn’t eat much, as it looked so unappealing and we left before the scones were served. If you want good Asian food head into China Town, or Box Hill. If you want a good high tea, give this place a miss!
Hi Bruce and Jenny, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience here didn’t meet your expectations, especially when it was a gift meant to be enjoyed. Our high tea is Asian-fusion based as stated on our website, we understand this can feel unexpected if you were anticipating classic items, we apologise if this wasn’t clearly communicated beforehand. We will be reviewing the food standard that you mentioned with our kitchen team to ensure the quality and presentation are consistent and appealing. Likewise, we’re sorry you left before the scones were served they are often a favourite for many guests. We genuinely appreciate your honesty as it helps us improve. If you would be open to it, we’d welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly and make things right. Please feel free to contact us through email at your convenience. Warm regards, Olinda Tea House
